The Gods in a Romance

Part of a suite of nine and, inspired by a cardboard by F. Block, weaved in the XVIIIIth century by the Royal Factory of Beauvais. This illustrious tapestry, through representations of the mythology (here, Apollon's courtship and Clytie), the looser character of this period. Notice at the top of the tapestry: the coat of arms of Louis XV, bankroller of the original piece.
