Year 1066: Edward the Confessor, king of England, is deceased. Guillaume has prepared his fleet for several days and is on the point of leaving Normandy. His aim is to conquer England and overthrow Harold, new King of England. During the night of September 26th, the 750 vessels left the Norman coasts, as emphasised by the Latin sentence "HIC WILLEM DUX IN MAGNO NAVIGIO".
