North of France invaded by King Louis XIV (II)

In August, 1667, the city of Lille (behind the scene on the tapestry) is taken to the Spaniards by the French, under the reign of king Lousi XIV. The latter, accompanied with Turenne and Vauban, is represented here. The piece of works is part of a 14 tapestries series about the "History of King ", woven by the Royal Manufacture of Tapestries in the XVIIth century.
